Extra-Curricular Activities

Extra-Curricular Activities are encouraged at all times with the BOT consent. These can occur during lunchtime, after school, weekends, and holidays, and in some cases, during school time. Activities include guitar and piano lessons, and various sporting activities.

The value of educational experiences outside the classroom is well recognised. Such experiences are seen as an integral part of the school programme, and may include day activities e.g. class trips and outdoor education experiences or experiences of a longer duration e.g. the senior Camp.

Bible in Schools  A programme is delivered for 30 minutes from 8.30am - 9.00am once a fortnight for two terms on a Friday.  Mrs Matthews takes Room 5, Mr Matthews Room 3 and Mrs Pram, Room 1 and 2.  The programme outline and tutors are approved by the Board of Trustees.

Sporting Equipment  Children are encouraged to play games during intervals and a range of sporting equipment is readily available for such use. A change of clothing is sometimes useful especially during the winter terms.  Winter games include netball, hockey, touch rugby, soccer and other ball games. Summer games include padder tennis, tennis, softball and cricket.  We often engage kiwicoaches to tutor in different sporting activities.
